Javier Milei was received with honors and decorated at the 'Regimiento de Infantería 1'.
Honored as Commander-in-Chief, the Patricios received him with honors and distinguished him with their historic Galera
President Javier Milei visited the 1st Infantry Regiment "Patricios" in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo this Tuesday, during a day filled with patriotic symbolism and institutional reaffirmation. The head of state was received by the oldest unit of the Argentine Army with a parade and honors befitting his position as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
In the historic Saavedra Hall of the barracks, Milei received the Top Hat from the Patricios' historic uniform, a gesture reserved only for those who embody the defense of the national legacy. According to the Office of the President, this is a tradition that links the history of Argentine independence with the highest authority of the State.

The Head of State was accompanied by his sister, the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri; and the Chief of the Army General Staff, Lieutenant GeneralCarlos Presti.
Minister Petri highlighted the significance of the ceremony with a message full of history and patriotic vindication: "Milei visited the country's first regiment and the oldest unit of our Army. Founded in 1806, when the citizens of Buenos Aires armed themselves to defend our land from the English invasion, the Patricios laid the foundations of the Nation, and upon them the Argentine Army was created."

He reinforced the idea that this marks a deep change in the relationship between the State and the Armed Forces: "Our President, Javier Milei, recognizes our Armed Forces day by day, and they return that same respect. Today, during his visit to Regiment 1 'Patricios' in Palermo, he was received with honors as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and was presented with the Top Hat, a distinctive piece of their historic uniform. The 'Uno Grande,' the oldest unit of our @Ejercito_Arg, represents tradition, valor, and pride for all Argentines."
He added: "Just days away from its 219th anniversary, the President congratulated them for the good they do. The 'Uno Grande' remains a symbol of honor, tradition, and courage, and its first chief, Cornelio Saavedra, is an example for all Argentines."
His sister, Secretary General Karina Milei, also emphasized the significance of this visit, posting on her X account: "At the Patricios Regiment, Javier was received with honors as Commander-in-Chief and in the Saavedra Hall received the historic Top Hat. With @LuisPetri, freedom shows that it is also defended by Armed Forces that are strong and proud of this new era. VLLC!"
