The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, left this Friday for Pakistan to lead a new round of talks with Iran, within the framework of the diplomatic offensive promoted by President Donald Trump to force the Iranian regime to accept favorable peace conditions for the West.
Before taking off from Joint Base Andrews, Vance made it clear that the White House maintains its willingness to negotiate, but without abandoning the policy of maximum pressure promoted by Trump.
“We are going to try to maintain a positive negotiation,” the vice president told reporters.
The diplomatic mission comes after the forceful military and economic pressure exerted by Washington significantly weakened Tehran's international position and forced the Iranian regime to return to the dialogue table.
Trump maintains total pressure on Iran
Vance remarked that the United States is willing to move towards a diplomatic solution only if Iran shows real willingness
to cooperate.“If Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we are willing to extend an open hand,” he said.
However, he warned that the Trump administration will not allow delaying maneuvers or deception by the Islamic regime.

“If they try to trick us, the negotiating team won't be
very responsive.”The statement reflects the doctrine that Trump has maintained since his return to the White House: peace through strength, combining diplomatic openness with constant military and economic pressure.
Washington seeks to curb the Iranian nuclear program
The proposal presented by the United States includes 15 strategic points, focused on neutralizing the Iranian regime's main threats
to global stability.Among Washington's main objectives are:
Total control over Iranian enriched uranium
. The dismantling of sensitive nuclear capabilities.
The full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Security guarantees for international navigation.
The Trump administration considers it key to regain effective control over the strait to protect global trade and prevent Tehran from continuing to use that waterway as a tool for geopolitical extortion.
