Jesús María officially presented its flag, a symbol that reinforces the identity and history of the city in northern Córdoba. The emblem was named "Estrella del Norte Cordobés" and joins the coat of arms and the anthem as part of the local heritage. The presentation took place at an institutional event that brought together authorities, residents, and cultural leaders from the region.
The initiative was part of the Nuestra Bandera Program, promoted by the Vice-Governor's Office of Córdoba. This plan seeks for each locality in the province to have its own flag that expresses its history and values. In the case of Jesús María, the call for submissions received more than 120 proposals from artists, institutions, and citizens.
The process was overseen by Dr. Cristian Baquero Lazcano, an expert in identity and public image. Baquero Lazcano is also director of the Argentine Association of Ceremonial and Protocol, an organization that supported the evaluation of the final design. The result was considered exemplary for its symbolic quality and citizen participation.

"Estrella del Norte Cordobés," an emblem with deep meaning
The design combines three horizontal stripes and a golden flaming sun that serves as a guide and symbolic compass. The red color, which covers two-thirds of the flag, represents the courage and Jesuit heritage that gave the city its name. White and light blue complete the composition, reflecting community solidarity and provincial pride.
The flag was chosen by consensus of the jury, which highlighted its visual balance and representative power. The emblem alludes to Jesús María as the gateway to northern Córdoba and the epicenter of traditionalist culture. It also summarizes the values of work, faith, and progress that characterize the community.
