The first raising of the official flag of Jesús María brought together residents, institutions, and authorities at the Route 9 entrance, marking a milestone for the community. Mayor Federico Zárate led the ceremony, accompanied by Vice Governor Myrian Prunotto, who emphasized the grassroots origin of the project. The event took place in a festive atmosphere with a strong presence of the local band, which accompanied the central moment of the event.
The flag's design was the work of local creator Martín Del Fabro, whose proposal was chosen from more than 150 submitted by residents. His contribution was key to providing a visual identity to the new banner, which embodies traditional values and shared aspirations of the city. The jury that evaluated the proposals was made up of specialists and local cultural leaders.
Zárate highlighted that the initiative arose from a suggestion by Genaro, a teenager who asked why Jesús María did not have an official symbol. That comment sparked an open process supported by the Municipality, which allowed residents' concerns to be addressed. The mayor emphasized that the new emblem reflects history, culture, and a common vision for the future.

Creator Martín Del Fabro described the flag as "a northern star," highlighting that it seeks to synthesize regional identity and project it with clarity. His design was valued by the community for combining historical elements with a modern and representative aesthetic. Del Fabro stated that the participatory process allowed the final result to be the product of broad and genuine consensus.
Resident participation was a central element of the project, with more than 150 proposals illustrating the interest in strengthening institutional symbols. The Municipality promoted consultation mechanisms that encouraged transparency and openness, in line with a management approach focused on strengthening local identity. The final selection reflected citizens' commitment to initiatives that strengthen civic life.
El creador Martín Del Fabro definió la bandera como “una estrella del norte”, destacando que busca sintetizar la identidad regional y proyectarla con claridad.
Vice Governor Myrian Prunotto celebrated the creation of an official symbol that emerged from the citizens themselves and that will now accompany institutional events. She highlighted that coordination with the Legislature made it possible to organize the process and ensure the participation of the entire community. She indicated that the flag will begin to be used formally at every civic event and in public buildings.
