Jorge Macri lied again about Milei's model to try to generate fear

The Buenos Aires City Mayor accused La Libertad Avanza of wanting to end public health and education in the City

In a new attempt to generate fear, the head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, made statements filled with lies when referring to the model promoted by the president of the Nation, Javier Milei.

"The libertarian model that is, a Buenos Aires without public health and without public education. I have a different view from what they propose with the chainsaw," Macri expressed in an interview, insinuating that the project of La Libertad Avanza would lead to a dismantling of the State in areas like health and education, something that is completely false.

The statements, quickly viralized on social media, caused strong criticism from the people, mainly from Milei's followers. Macri's accusation seems to replicate a well-known strategy called "fear campaign," a resource widely used by the former Kirchnerist presidential candidate Sergio Massa during the 2023 election.

Curiously, Jorge Macri counts among his advisors Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, the Spanish political consultant who designed that same campaign for Massa, and who also advised Cristina Kirchner at the time.

Javier Milei's response

This new attempt to generate fear with lies did not go unnoticed by President Javier Milei, who replied forcefully through his official X account.

"The charlatan repeating the dirty and fear campaign he implemented with Massa in 2023, now in a Buenos Aires key... If they look further, they'll find many more coincidences... Same journalists, same instruments, same times, same demonizations... Is Massa competing in CABA?" launched the head of State, in a direct message toward Jorge Macri and his communication team.

In another message, Milei quoted a note from the newspaper La Nación that exposes Gutiérrez-Rubí's role as the articulator of this discursive strategy. "This is how dirty they play... The interesting thing is that before they could lie and there were no facts to contrast... now they lie even with the facts that demonstrate the lie in their face... It seems they can't discuss ideas and that's why they resort to the trash of negative campaigning. CIAO," the president sentenced.

Meanwhile, Milei deepens his management with measures of public spending cuts, focused on ending political scams, and economic deregulation, Jorge Macri bets on differentiating himself with a discourse that, like Massa in 2023, seeks to generate fear in the population.

However, the desperate attempts of the PRO to install a false narrative around Milei's model do not have the desired impact, especially when Argentines already see the excellent results of the management at the national level, which contradict Macri's catastrophic predictions.
