José Florentín, current Central Córdoba footballer and former Vélez Sarsfield player, filed a criminal complaint for perjury against the young woman who accused him of sexual abuse in 2024. The incident allegedly took place after a match in Tucumán, but the midfielder keeps that the accusation was fabricated and that "it never happened."
Scope of the judicial filing
The complaint, filed with the Early Decision Prosecutor's Unit, involves not only the complainant, a local sports journalist, but also witnesses, lawyers, family members, and a national deputy along with his advisor. Florentín seeks to be accepted as a plaintiff in the case.
Other footballers involved
The case also includes former Vélez players Braian Cufré, Abiel Osorio, Sebastián Sosa, and Braian Galván, who remain under prosecution for the same alleged incident that occurred at a hotel in Tucumán.

All of them face coercive measures such as restraining orders from the complainant and financial bonds.
Reported crimes and evidence submitted
Florentín, represented by attorneys Camilo Atim and Florencia Abdala, accused those involved of perjury, document falsification, procedural fraud, and illicit association.
According to reports, he submitted technical reports from cell phones, WhatsApp screenshots, audio recordings, videos, and testimony records. He also requested searches and access to call and geolocation records.
Current status of the case
The Tucumán judiciary declared the investigation a "complex case", doubling the investigation period until March 2026 due to the amount of digital evidence to be analyzed and the possibility of adding new testimonies. The defense teams and the Public Prosecutor's Office are evaluating the next steps, which could include referring the case to trial or requests for dismissal.
