The controversy over the alleged act of racism byGianluca Prestianni against Vinícius continues to add opinions from different figures in soccer. In that regard, José Luis Chilavert, former Paraguayan goalkeeper and Vélez idol, came out in defense of the Argentine, criticizing the Brazilian, Kylian Mbappé and the current state of soccer.
The conflict originated during the match played at Estadio da Luz, when the Brazilian forward accused Prestianni of having directed racist insults at him. After scoring a goal, Vinícius celebrated in front of the crowd and there was a verbal exchange with the former Fortín player, who covered his mouth while speaking to him.

According to the Real Madrid striker, he received alleged racist comments, while Mbappé backed his teammate and shouted at the Argentine on the field: "You are a fucking racist".
In that context, Chilavert took a public stance and expressed solidarity with the Argentine. "I express my solidarity with Prestianni. Vinícius is the first one who goes and insults everyone. One looks at the camera where he says "cagón, cagón," he is repeating it to Prestianni", he stated.
The former goalkeeper also questioned Mbappé's support for his teammate: "Who comes and expresses solidarity with Vinícius? Mbappé. What can he say? He talks about values and all that and he lives with a transvestite, it is not normal".
Far from moderating his stance, he insisted: "Everyone can do whatever they want with their life, but it is not normal for a man to live with a transvestite, that is what a woman is for. The best thing someone can have by their side is a woman, it is the greatest thing that can happen to us, to live with a woman".
"When I played in Zaragoza they shouted "indio," "sudaca," "wetback," and I kept playing... You see the video of Vinícius running to tell the referee as if it were "teacher, that boy told me that I am a faggot"; that is when you realize that all the molds have been broken, because of FIFA, which has misused that message", Chilavert commented.

"Since Vinícius fights so much against racism and discrimination... why does he not go on Brazilian TV to say why the Brazilian police beat Argentine, Paraguayan or Uruguayan fans to a pulp every time they go to Brazil? Is racism and discrimination only when it is against him?", he fired.
