Juan Pablo Sorín shared his opinion on the comparison between Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.
The former Barcelona player praised the young Spanish talent, but asked not to burden him with comparisons and stated that he will be a great player in the future
Since he broke into Barcelona's first team, Lamine Yamal quickly became one of the greatest prospects in world football. Due to his offensive characteristics and his position on the field, comparisons with Lionel Messi did not take long to arrive, and some already see him as Messi's natural successor at the Catalan club.
When asked by Bolavip about this media pressure, Juan Pablo Sorín, former left back for Argentina National Team and Barça itself, was clear and downplayed the excessive expectations: "Messi is irreplaceable, just as Diego was. People need to let Lamine grow and let him be. He's a player meant to soar, with no ceiling, and the more focused he is on football, the better".

Sorín, who had already praised the young Spaniard on previous occasions, emphasized that Lamine's talent is indisputable, but that his maturation must be progressive, without the burden of labels that could divert his development: "He will surely be brilliant, as he already is, and what caught my attention when he was a child was that in the few balls he had, he was very decisive".
At 16 years old, Yamal is already an undisputed starter at Barcelona and a key piece for the club's future. However, voices like Sorín's remind people that the path to stardom must be traveled at his own pace, far from excessive pressures.
Sorín's frustration for not playing for River in the Legends match
Although Sorín was part of the Legends Clash between River and Barcelona held at the Monumental, he wanted to play it wearing the Banda's jersey and not Barça's. For this reason, he expressed his dissatisfaction on his social media.

"We will meet again with all the River fans. In a different way than I would have wanted. I wasn't drafted for this legends match", he began.
"The first match that River Legends played outside the country was in Chile, where I also helped organize. I didn't want the same here, neither in terms of organization nor material, nor to take the place of any of my colleagues. It was only about playing a few symbolic minutes at the Monumental with you, the River fans", he added.
Despite his anger, he ended his message with respect and gratitude: "Clubs belong to their fans, their people, and their history! Thank you always for the unconditional affection".
