Juan Valdez opened its first store in Córdoba and plans further investments in Argentina
The renowned Colombian brand arrived at Córdoba Airport and plans to open 120 stores throughout the country
The Colombian brand Juan Valdez opened its first location in the province of Córdoba, at Ambrosio Taravella International Airport. This is the company's fourth store in Argentina and marks the beginning of an ambitious national expansion plan. In the coming weeks, a second branch will open in the pre-boarding area of the same terminal.
This new arrival is no coincidence: Córdoba was chosen for its air connectivity, strategic location, and sustained growth in consumption. The opening was led by Jorge García Allende, Juan Valdez's general manager in the country, together with the local investment group. Both highlighted the province's potential as a development platform.
The company confirmed that the opening of a third location in Córdoba is being considered, this time outside the airport. The estimated investment for each store is around 200,000 to 220,000 dollars. This commitment demonstrates confidence in the Argentine market and in the recovery capacity of its economy.

The arrival of private capital strengthens regional growth
Each branch offers the brand's signature menu, with premium Colombian coffee and traditional pastries. The Córdoba locations were designed to provide comfort and quality to the thousands of passengers passing through the airport terminal. The brand thus strengthens its presence in airports, where it is already a leader in Colombia and other regions.
Juan Valdez highlighted that Córdoba is the brand's third largest online sales market nationwide. The airport's connectivity with key destinations such as Panama, Lima, Madrid, and Rio de Janeiro was decisive for the choice. Aeropuertos Argentina also celebrated the company's arrival, highlighting the improvement in user experience.
This level of air connectivity that today positions Córdoba as a strategic hub is no coincidence. It is the result of the work of the former Secretary of Transportation, Franco Mogetta. It was the former official who promoted an open skies policy that facilitated the arrival of new routes and operators.

Mogetta did so in coordination with the Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzenegger, within the framework of a clear agenda: open markets, reduce barriers, and once again integrate Argentina into the world.
With this opening, there are now five active locations in Argentina: three in Buenos Aires and two in Córdoba. Before the end of the year, new points of sale will be added in Aeroparque, Ezeiza, downtown Buenos Aires, and Neuquén. In addition, negotiations are progressing to reach Mendoza, Bariloche, Iguazú, and Comodoro Rivadavia.
Foreign investment drives employment and local development
Juan Valdez plans to finish 2025 with at least eight stores in the country, as part of a federal strategy. Each location generates direct employment and spillover effects for suppliers, logistics, and associated services. The business model is based on quality, operational efficiency, and customer connection.
The Argentine case replicates the successful model that the brand has already consolidated in Colombia and abroad. The group in charge of local operations also leads other gastronomic brands such as Almacén de Pizzas. The team's experience and the support of private capital were key to the rapid growth.
One of the recent milestones was the opening of the largest Juan Valdez store in the world, in the Núñez neighborhood, Buenos Aires. That space operates under an extended format, with an expanded gastronomic offering. The brand also plans to bring new international concepts to the country, such as Cien Montaditos.

A commitment to work, order, and a productive Argentina
Juan Valdez was created in 2002 by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia, and represents more than 550,000 coffee-growing families. For each sale, the company channels royalties to improve quality of life in rural areas. In 2021, it was certified as a B Corporation, standing out for its positive social and environmental impact.
The arrival of new brands, investments, and projects in the country is a sign of the chosen direction. In a context where macroeconomic order is once again a priority, the private sector is responding with confidence. Argentina is once again a possible destination for capital, employment, and the future.
