The journalist even publicly challenged the magistrate to speak out about the claim and explain the true origin of her decision. “Say it, ma'am, say it”, Feinmann expressed, who also asked Pascual to publicly acknowledge those she exposed as her “godfathers.”
Pascual, head of the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Court No. 2 of Lomas de Zamora, decided to suspend the application of Law 27.801 for 60 days, which reduced the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 14 years.
The magistrate granted a preventive collective habeas corpus and argued that the inclusion of adolescents aged 14 and 15 could cause a collapse in the Buenos Aires institutions due to infrastructure, capacity, and personnel issues.
The decision provoked an immediate reaction from La Libertad Avanza, which announced that it would promote the impeachment of Pascual. The group questioned how a provincial magistrate could block the application of a law enacted by Congress and stated that the resolution deepens impunity in the Buenos Aires territory.
Journalist Eduardo Feinmann revealed on Wednesday a serious claim about the Kirchnerist judge Marta Elba Pascual, who suspended the application of the new Juvenile Criminal Regime in the province of Buenos Aires for 60 days: he stated that the magistrate allegedly acknowledged in her inner circle that she made the decision at the request of Governor Axel Kicillof and Peronist leader Mariano Cascallares.
During his program, Feinmann claimed to have received the information from someone very close to Pascual, whom he described as someone who knows her “well.” According to the journalist's account, the magistrate herself would be commenting among her acquaintances: “I did what Cascallares and Kicillof asked me, and now no one comes out to support me? They left me alone”.
Feinmann insisted that people close to the judge, with legal knowledge, began to question her over the controversial resolution and reproduced another supposed response from Pascual to those complaints: “Well, I did what Cascallares and Kicillof asked me. Now they leave me alone”.
Cascallares is currently a provincial deputy for Unión por la Patria and one of the leaders closest to the political structure with presidential aspirations of Axel Kicillof in the Buenos Aires territory, with alleged ties to the judiciary.
