The artist with an extensive career in film, theater, and television died at 84
On Tuesday, May 6, the death of Julio Marticorena was announced, an Argentine actor with a significant career in the national scene. He was 84 years old and had participated in more than fifty audiovisual productions, as well as renowned theatrical works.
The Argentine Association of Actors was responsible for spreading the news through their social media. In a brief but emotional message, they highlighted his artistic legacy and sent their condolences to the interpreter's family and friends.
"We bid farewell to our member, actor Julio Marticorena, who developed an extensive and distinguished career in theater, film, and television," expressed the union.
An actor loved by colleagues and the public
Santiago Korovsky, star of División Palermo (Netflix), also joined the farewells. From his Instagram stories, he posted a brief message accompanied by a blue emoji: "Genius, @marticorenajulio. We will miss you."
The cause of his death has not yet been publicly disclosed.

Solid and versatile career in different formats
Marticorena was born on July 7, 1941. He trained as an actor with renowned teachers such as Héctor Malamud, Beatriz Matar, and Daniel Marcove. His career successfully spanned theater, television, and film.
In theater, he was part of casts in pieces like Una noche con Magnus, La pasión de Toto, Tribunal de mujeres and Mi propio Kadish, among many others.

His time on the big screen included films like Tango, Plaza de almas, El túnel de los huesos, Mi obra maestra,Animalada, Un día en el paraíso and Puerta de hierro, among several titles.
On television, he left his mark on more than fifty productions. Some of the most remembered works were División Palermo, Las huellas del secretario, Tiempo final and the successful Casados con hijos.
Julio Marticorena left a mark on the industry with his talent, commitment, and versatility. His legacy was imprinted on dozens of projects that today remember him with respect and admiration.
