Kirchnerism for export: Mario Riorda now operates for Luisa González in Ecuador

Riorda is an expert in bots and fake news campaigns, which he uses against Noboa on social media platforms like YouTube

Meanwhile, as Ecuador prepares for new elections, a dark network of political consultants linked to Kirchnerism and authoritarian Latin American regimes takes center stage in Luisa González's campaign, a candidate from Rafael Correa's line and an open sympathizer of radical leftist governments like Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela and Díaz-Canel in Cuba.

Among the main operators behind her electoral strategy is Mario Riorda, a well-known figure in the world of Kirchnerist political communication. Riorda, who has already been involved in campaigns in Argentina and Uruguay, repeats his modus operandi:  spreading fake news, using smear campaigns, and manipulating public opinion through an army of trolls, as was recently reported in Uruguay during his work with the Broad Front.

In parallel and unlike Luisa González, Daniel Noboa is conducting a campaign managed and run by himself, seeking to signal political austerity and authenticity.

Riorda and the Kirchnerist arm in Ecuador

Riorda doesn't arrive alone. He is accompanied by a team estimated to be around 40 consultants, many of them with proven ties to Latin American dictatorships and previous experiences in dirty campaigns in the region.

In recent hours, it even emerged that part of González's advisory team traveled to Venezuela to coordinate communication strategies with Chavista operators, thus reinforcing the idea that the campaign not only has the symbolic support of the Bolivarian axis but also logistical and technical backing.

Another Argentine consultant who arrived in the country to help with González's electoral strategy is Daniel Ivoskus, who is in charge of the measurement and communication strategy area.

Riorda: from Argentina's economic failure to exporting the narrative

Mario Riorda's figure has been consolidated as one of the great articulators of the Kirchnerist narrative. For years he advised Argentine Peronism in constructing speeches that sought to cover up inflation, insecurity, and the country's structural corruption. Now, with the same script, he tries to embellish a candidate like González, a direct heir of a model that led Ecuador to a deep institutional and economic crisis.

According to recent reports, such as those published by La Derecha Diario, Riorda has already been accused of being behind dirty operations in Uruguay, including the dissemination of fake news financed by funds of dubious origin. In his work with candidate Yamandú Orsi, it was revealed that he managed a budget of one hundred thousand dollars a month to sustain a digital disinformation network.

"We are facing an international propaganda apparatus coordinated between Kirchnerist, Correaist, and Chavista operators," assured a source close to the Ecuadorian opposition.

What is Kirchnerism seeking in Ecuador?

The strategy is clear: to establish a communication model that disguises authoritarianism under slogans of social justice. Just as Kirchnerism in Argentina used polarization to stay in power despite devastating economic indicators, they now seek to export that same scheme to other countries.

Luisa González represents that continuity. Her environment is not only surrounded by questioned consultants but also shows a disturbing affinity with the methods of totalitarian governments.  The presence of Riorda in her campaign is not a minor detail, but a warning sign for those who still value transparency and democracy in the region.
