Kirchnerist officials Alesia Abaigar and Eva Mieri were indicted
Buenos Aires officials face charges of threats and political hatred following a planned attack on Espert's house
The federal judiciary made progress in the case investigating the demonstration carried out in front of the home of national deputy José Luis Espert, which took place on July 2.
Judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado ordered the prosecution of Alesia Abaigar, an official of the Buenos Aires provincial government, and ofEva Mieri, a Quilmes councilwoman linked to the political group of mayor Mayra Mendoza, for having organized the attack.
The incident included the throwing of fecal matter and the installation of a banner with intimidating messages in front of the home of the pro-government legislator. Along with them, Iván Díaz Bianchi was also prosecuted, an employee of the provincial Cetrángolo Hospital in Vicente López.

The three were charged as co-perpetrators of the crimes of attack against public order, aggravated threats, and incitement to persecution or hatred for political reasons.
The judge also ordered a seizure of 5 million pesos (11,023 pounds) for Abaigar and Mieri. According to the ruling, the accused "were part, as organizers, of a group whose purpose was to influence the present and/or future actions of the deputy".
The judicial file highlights the central role played by the two officials in planning the attack. Arroyo Salgado pointed out that "Abaigar and Mieri were the ones who organized and planned the actions, which is especially significant since we are talking about two officials who acted contrary to what their positions require".
On the seized phones, particularly Abaigar's, messages were found detailing the logistics of the demonstration, including "instructions on clothing, time, and place", as well as the recruitment of women for the action. The official even offered to cover Díaz Bianchi's transportation expenses, according to the ruling.

In the same ruling, the judge dismissed the charges against Eva Pietravallo (Abaigar's mother) and Alberto Protti (the official's former partner), and declared lack of merit for Aldana Muzzio and Candelaria Montes Cato. The judge also ordered the lifting of the gag order that had been in place on the case since its inception.
The case takes on an additional political dimension given the possibility that Eva Mieri could assume the position of interim mayor of Quilmes if Mayra Mendoza takes her seat in the Buenos Aires provincial legislature.
Although Mieri was released after spending thirteen days in detention, her legal situation could affect her potential access to the local executive branch and adds tension to the political landscape of Greater Buenos Aires.
