Konami surprises and announces a remake of the first 'Silent Hill'.
Konami has confirmed that it is working on a remake of the first Silent Hill together with Bloober Team, creators of the Silent Hill 2 Remake
Konami surprised fans with an unexpected announcement: a remake of the first Silent Hill is coming, developed by Bloober Team.
The project was confirmed at the end of the company's digital event. They also revealed updates on Metal Gear Solid Delta and Silent Hill f.

An announcement that took everyone by surprise
The reveal was brief but effective. The Silent Hill logo appeared alongside those of Konami and Bloober Team, accompanied by the phrase "in development."
In the background, music from the first game in the series played. That track was enough for fans to understand what it was about: a return to the original 1999 Silent Hill.
A new remake for the franchise
Minutes later, the official account for the series confirmed the rumor. In a social media post, they announced that they are working with Bloober Team on a remake of the first Silent Hill.

"At this time, we are working with Bloober Team on a remake of Silent Hill, which was released for PlayStation in 1999," they posted.
What is known so far?
- Platforms and release date haven't been confirmed.
- Everything suggests it will be a reimagining in the style of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was released at the end of 2024.
- That title, also developed by Bloober Team, was exclusive to PS5 and PC.

A bet on psychological horror
The choice of Bloober Team is not surprising. Their work on the remake of the second game received praise for maintaining the mysterious and distressing tone that characterizes the series.
In their analysis, specialized sites highlighted the narrative, puzzles, and oppressive atmosphere as elements that managed to capture the essence of the original.
What other projects does Konami have in the works?
In addition to the remake of the first Silent Hill, Konami is working on Silent Hill f, a completely new installment with a Japanese setting, and on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Both titles were part of the digital event, but the closing was reserved for the return of the game that started it all. That says a lot about the confidence they have in this project.
