Kosovo seeks to eliminate import tariffs on all US products
With this measure, the president of Kosovo also seeks for Trump to reduce his reciprocal tariffs
Meanwhile, the European Union attacks President Donald Trump for the imposition of reciprocal tariffs, which aim to end unfair trade, countries like Kosovo understand perfectly how to solve the situation.
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, requested the Government to suspend tariffs on the import of all products from the United States, after the latter imposed a 10% tariff.
Osmani, in a post on X, stated that this request aims to send the message that Kosovo is ready to strengthen its relations with the North American country.
"I'm convinced that this action will open new opportunities for job creation, technological exchange, and long-term economic growth," wrote Osmani.

In her letter, the President stated: "Today, I officially requested the Government of Kosovo to suspend tariffs on the import of all American products, an important step to deepen economic ties with our closest ally and send a clear message: Kosovo is ready for a stronger relationship with the United States, with a clear vision that will strengthen, secure, and make both countries more prosperous."
"I'm convinced that this measure will open new opportunities for job creation, technological exchange, and long-term economic growth. More than an economic measure, it's a foreign policy objective that reaffirms our enduring commitment to the alliance between Kosovo and the U.S., based on shared values of freedom and decades of unwavering support," she added.
"The U.S. President, Donald Trump, has announced tariffs on almost two hundred countries worldwide, which will take effect on April 5 and 9 at midnight, U.S. time. Among the countries affected by these tariffs are Kosovo and Albania, both with 10%," concluded Osmani.

The European Union
Meanwhile, the European Union, far from seeking to reduce its tariffs, is preparing measures against the tariffs announced by the U.S. President, and they described the decision as a "big blow to the global economy."
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, expressed her deep concern about the tariffs, which include a 20% tax on products imported from the EU. This measure is part of an effort to counter the trade deficit that the United States maintains with several countries.
