Kun Agüero promoted his documentary and recalled Pep Guardiola's City
The former player revealed intimate details of his life and anecdotes involving his family, the national team, and Messi
Sergio Agüero is enthusiastically experiencing the launch of his new documentary series. The former Independiente forward, idol of Manchester City and retired at Barcelona, visited ESPN studios to promote the four-episode project that will be available on Disney+.
As it is a production that reviews his life, Kun opened the doors to his intimacy and shared anecdotes and reflections on different moments of his successful career. During his appearance on the program F90, he talked about the influence of his father, friendships in the Argentine National Team, and his bond with his friend Lionel Messi.
"My old man always demanded the most from me. Since I was little, when I scored goals in neighborhood clubs, he always corrected things I did during the match so I would keep growing," he recounted during an extensive interview.

With his characteristic humor, he compared that demand to Pep Guardiola's, a coach he met during his time in Manchester: "It was like Pep, when he arrived at the club, the squad had great figures like Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, Yaya Touré, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Nasri, Zabaleta... they were important names; but we all wondered what was going to happen. With his arrival, everything changed for the better." In both cases, he highlighted that respect was key to achieving success.

True to his relaxed and fun style, Agüero also commented on Messi's new look. "It's good, I like the long hair. I used it for a while at Atlético de Madrid; but it's strange that he doesn't use a headband. It's in the middle, but the other day it moved a bit. He's going to have to start using one. It will surely look very good on him," he commented with a laugh.

When he referred to his son Benjamín, however, the tone was more serious. "He knows who his grandfather was and who his father is," he pointed out. "He's very calm, I always ask him to be respectful with the coaches and the kids; he can get angry like everyone else, but he should let off steam only in the locker room. He doesn't have the pressure I had. He handles himself very calmly, but he trains to reach the First Division. He tries day by day," he added.

One of the highlights of Kun by Agüero is that the story is told in the first person. Throughout the chapters, the former footballer shares his thoughts and emotions about the most important moments of his professional and personal life. From his beginnings at Independiente to his consecration at Atlético de Madrid and Manchester City, the documentary covers his entire journey.
The series is not limited to his sporting achievements, as it also addresses the personal sacrifices and relationships that marked him. According to the production, it features unpublished archival material and exclusive interviews with close people and figures from sports and media, such as Lionel Messi, Pep Guardiola, Nicolás Otamendi, and Ibai Llanos, among others.
