In the lead-up to Thursday's match against Chile, corresponding to the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Lionel Scaloni gave his traditional press conference. The Argentina National Team coach spoke about the difficulties in assembling the team due to the large number of absences and left Lionel Messi's presence from the start in suspense.
"I was talking to him, we're still talking. We've been in contact recently. We haven't decided yet if he's going to start the match or not.
