Lionsgate confirms John Wick 5 with Keanu Reeves: what did the director of the saga say?
Lionsgate confirmed John Wick 5 with Keanu Reeves, but Stahelski believes the fourth was a perfect ending
Lionsgate confirmed that Keanu Reeves will return for a fifth installment of John Wick.
However, Chad Stahelski, the director of the saga, is not convinced that there is a story worth telling.

Why does the director have doubts about John Wick 5?
Stahelski feels that the ending of the fourth film was perfect. According to him, it was a poetic, powerful conclusion with emotional weight.
"It was our farewell," he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "We didn't want to force it any further."
Lionsgate continues to bet on the franchise
Despite the director's doubts, the studio has already set John Wick 5 in motion with Keanu Reeves confirmed.

The decision comes at a time when the Wick universe is expanding with new characters and spin-offs such as Ballerina.
An ending that seemed definitive
Stahelski himself admitted that they considered ending the saga after the third film. However, with the fourth, they felt that they were truly saying goodbye.
"We had another ending, more open... but it was crap," he said. "In Japan, we changed everything. We wanted to end it well."

The story is not written yet
Mike Finch, screenwriter of the fourth installment, is also working on the fifth alongside Stahelski.
However, the director clarifies that they do not have anything finalized yet. "If the idea is good, we show it to Keanu. If not, we don't force anything."
