State and federal authorities carried out an operation that resulted in the seizure of 21 properties linked to the Familia Michoacana. This organized crime group has operated with impunity for decades.
Among the seized assets are mansions luxuriously decorated with gold, artificial lakes, and various eccentricities. These seized assets reflect the ostentation with which criminal leaders live in a country plagued by violence.

According to the State of Mexico's Prosecutor's Office, the properties secured in six municipalities were used as warehouses, drug distribution centers, surveillance points, and safe houses.
They also identified estates designed for the shelter and comfort of the criminal group's leaders. Among them are the brothers José Alfredo and Johnny Hurtado Olascoaga, identified as priority targets by the federal government.
