MasterChef Celebrity (Telefe) had another heated night. This time, the main character was "El Chino" Leunis, who stood up to Germán Martitegui after receiving feedback that he did not take well at all.
The host presented a dish inspired by a recipe proposed by Donato De Santis, with detailed ingredients and steps. However, there was a key obstacle: the contestants never saw the original plating. That detail ended up sparking the argument.
“El Chino” Leunis se plantó ante Germán Martitegui
Martitegui's criticism that triggered El Chino's annoyance
When tasting the dish, Martitegui questioned Leunis's decision to cut the meat into a square shape, pointing out that this caused unnecessary waste. The contestant had named his preparation "tatami" precisely because of that shape, and he did not hesitate to respond.
"I never saw the original dish. It's not fair for you to make an observation about a dish we didn't see, I say this with respect", said El Chino, visibly upset. The judge, firmly, replied that the name determined the presentation: "It defines the way you cut the meat".
An uncomfortable exchange that forced Wanda Nara to intervene
The tension was such that Wanda Nara intervened to calm the situation, pointing out that both were saying the same thing from different perspectives. Still, the back-and-forth left a heavy atmosphere in the kitchen.
At the time of the final feedback, Martitegui insisted: "The plating was open, but one can use that freedom well or poorly. In this case, your perfectionism worked against a traditional dish".
El Chino's reaction after the feedback
Leunis acknowledged that he expected more favorable feedback. "I felt that the meat was at a good point, but I couldn't go against what their palates feel", he admitted. Although he tried to appear calm, he did not hide his anger.
