While they complain about the lack of funds, the New CECEN will hold a 'free' party.

The event doesn't charge admission and includes significant expenses on food, drinks, and glitter stands

The New CECEN, the Student Center of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), caused controversy by announcing an unusual party "Break the Ice 25A," scheduled for this Friday, April 25.

The event, which promises free entry, food, drinks, and glitter stands, is presented as an opportunity for students to "socialize" before the pressure of midterms.

However, it highlights its misuse of public funds, either directly or indirectly, in a context where national universities, including UBA, are demanding from Javier Milei's Government a "budget adjustment."

The party, according to CECEN's announcement, is made with the outrageous excuse of fostering connection among students with the slogan: "Have you ever thought about what your course would be like without your college friends? That's why the party you need to break the ice before midterms eat you alive is here."

The event doesn't charge entry, includes significant expenses on food, drinks, and glitter stands, which raised suspicions about its funding. Since UBA's student centers usually receive funds from the university, which in turn is funded by the state budget, it is presumed that the event is being financed, at least in part, with public resources, paid with the taxes of all Argentinians.

This situation contrasts with the statements of university authorities and leftist unions, who falsely denounce a "defunding" of the educational system by Milei's Government. However, by funding this type of "parties," it would seem that they have money to spare.

Did you ever wonder what your college classes would be like without your friends? Spoiler: very boring. That's why the party you need to break the ice before midterms eat you alive is here.

Although the exact cost of the event was not revealed, the inclusion of food, drinks, and stands suggests a considerable expense, which reignited the debate about the responsible use of public resources.

Meanwhile, Milei's Government is accused of "defunding" the University of Buenos Aires, which supposedly doesn't have money even to pay for electricity expenses, the CECEN party highlights its contradiction.
