A married couple was mistakenly subdued during an ETER operation following a call from the accommodation manager

The unusual episode shook Córdoba last Wednesday, when a high-risk operation burst into the Ruta Hotel in the Los Boulevares neighborhood. The intervention was triggered by a false alarm caused by the manager of the motel, who believed he recognized the perpetrators of a robbery that had occurred a few hours earlier. The confusion led to the presence of tactical groups and a couple being handcuffed despite having no connection to the incident under investigation.
The deployment included ETER Force units and several police vehicles, which surrounded the building on suspicion of an armed and barricaded couple. The magnitude of the operation drew the attention of neighbors, who watched as the uniformed officers entered with long guns and assault gear. Within minutes, the place was filled with sirens, lights, and officers while the guests remained inside the room without understanding what was happening.
When the special team entered, they found that the scene was very different from what they had imagined and found no weapons or criminal elements. The occupants, according to judicial sources, were a man and a woman who had checked in during the early morning hours to rest. The confusion apparently arose from a phrase overheard through the door, which the manager mistakenly interpreted as a reference to a weapon.

The couple's complaint after the operation
The couple reported having been mistreated and detained under threats by the officers who intervened in the room. Their attorney, Cristian Ambrosio, stated that his clients were beaten and zip-tied before being taken to a judicial facility. "They were warned that they wouldn't see their children if they didn't confess," the lawyer said, describing the treatment received during the procedure.
The couple stated that they had remained at the location since four in the morning and were completely unaware of the robbery that had occurred in another part of the city. They recounted that they only noticed the police presence when they saw the lights and heard orders from outside. According to their testimony, they tried to explain the situation, but the intervention was already underway and they were subdued without being able to speak.
The couple's vehicle, parked in the hotel's garage, was also subject to material damage according to the complaint filed. They reported breakages in internal parts, such as the fuse box and the mirror, as well as the theft of a sum of money and personal belongings. The attorney announced that they will file criminal and civil actions against the police personnel, the hotel, and the provincial government for the events that occurred.
