Mendoza is preparing to experience a new Sanmartiniano Month with a wide agenda of activities that will highlight the legacy of General José de San Martín, a central figure in South American independence and a key player in the province's history. Throughout August, residents and tourists will be able to participate in training sessions, heritage tours, official events, exhibitions, guided visits, and cultural experiences organized by the provincial government and municipalities.

The initiative, driven by the Mendoza Tourism Entity (EMETUR) along with provincial and departmental agencies, aims to strengthen Mendoza's historical identity and establish the region as one of the main destinations for cultural tourism linked to the Liberation Movement.

Training on Sanmartinian history and cultural tourism

As part of the National Sanmartiniano Passport, EMETUR will develop a series of discussions that will combine history and tourism promotion of the main sites related to the Liberator.

The sessions will be led by tourism specialist Facundo Loyarte from Libertador Turismo, and historian Roberto Tripolone, who will address the historical significance of the various Sanmartinian sites in Mendoza.

The training sessions will be free, with prior registration, and will take place in Uspallata, Godoy Cruz, Las Heras, the Provincial Legislature, Junín, and Tunuyán throughout August.

The city of Mendoza will offer tours, shows, and gastronomic experiences

The capital of Mendoza will feature one of the most comprehensive agendas for Sanmartiniano Month.

Among the main proposals are the series "Sanmartinian Conversations", guided tours "Sanmartiniano Legacy", the Sanmartiniano City Bus, the traditional "Glory Afternoons" at Cerro de la Gloria, the Dinner of the Liberator, the Gala Evening on August 16, and nighttime visits to the City Cemetery to learn about the history of the independence protagonists.

Additionally, the San Martín House Museum will remain open with special activities, and proposals such as "San Martín and Wine", a bike tour to the Historical Field El Plumerillo, and a full-day experience at the Historical Manzano will be developed.

The departments have also prepared special activities

The tribute to the Father of the Homeland will reach different points in Mendoza through an agenda organized by the municipalities.

Godoy Cruz will offer exhibitions on the Sanmartiniana Movement, tours of its historic center, and talks related to the National Sanmartiniano Passport.

Las Heras, one of the departments with the greatest prominence in the history of the Army of the Andes, will carry out activities in Uspallata, the Historical Field El Plumerillo, nighttime performances, recognitions, and tourist tours.

In Lavalle, the school contest "In the Footsteps of the Liberator", a themed marathon, and a central event at the Jocolí Post will take place.

San Carlos will organize guided visits, educational proposals, training for teachers, and the official event for the anniversary of General San Martín's passing.

For its part, Tunuyán will offer tours of the Historical Manzano, visits to museums, artistic performances, the traditional civic-military parade, and new historical talks open to the public.

Mendoza reaffirms its identity as a Sanmartiniano territory

With this agenda, Mendoza repositions itself as one of the main historical settings of the Liberator's legacy. The province seeks to promote cultural tourism, strengthen the preservation of historical heritage, and bring the figure of San Martín closer to new generations through educational, recreational, and cultural activities distributed throughout the territory.

Sanmartiniano Month thus consolidates as an opportunity to explore the places where part of America's independence was forged and discover the immense historical value that Mendoza preserves around the figure of General José de San Martín.
