Mengolini portrayed herself as a victim and called for the regulation of social media to censor users
The Kirchnerist journalist claimed that she is a victim of harassment on social media
The ultra-Kirchnerist journalist Julia Mengolini portrayed herself as a victim this Tuesday due to the "digital harassment" she has received in recent days, in the context of an alleged harassment campaign that, according to her, comes from accounts linked to the government. She also called for regulating social media to censor users.
The owner of the Kirchnerist media outlet Futuröck reported that President Javier Milei actively participated in this offensive simply because he posted messages about her on his X account. Since then, Mengolini claimed that she has received threats and videos with sexual and pornographic content involving her and her brother, apparently caused by artificial intelligence.
"Pain and torture were intended to be inflicted on me here, and they succeeded for many days," Mengolini portrayed herself as a victim during her intervention in the Women and Diversity Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. In that meeting, specialists, jurists, journalists, and people affected by what was defined as "political violence against women and diversities" in Argentina were summoned.

Among the speakers was also the Kirchnerist journalist Nancy Pazos, president of the group Periodistas Argentinas, who reported "cyberbullying" on social media. Meanwhile, the Kirchnerist deputy Esteban Paulón also portrayed himself as a victim for having been accused of being a "pedophile."
"I am the victim of a hate campaign orchestrated from the highest spheres of the National State, with a persistence that never ends," Julia Mengolini claimed without evidence while speaking in the Chamber of Deputies.
According to her account, the harassment began about two weeks ago, when a video went viral, which she claims was caused with artificial intelligence, showing her in a sexual scene with her brother.
Mengolini reported that since then she has received constant threats and intimidating messages. "They created pornographic videos with AI where I was involved in incestuous relationships with my brother. There are more naive videos where I kiss my brother that circulate on Twitter. The sexual ones circulate through Telegram and links are sent on Reddit and other more underground networks, which are sent to me all the time," she explained.

"This is not a conspiracy or an idea we have, it is the President who tweets things of this nature and who mocked this campaign and me," she portrayed herself as a victim. Mengolini claimed that she reported President Milei and users for threats, public intimidation, advocacy of crime, illicit association, and an alleged embezzlement of public funds used, according to her, to finance these digital harassment campaigns.
The director of Futuröck also asked Congress to address the existing legal vacuum regarding the use of artificial intelligence and social media. "There is much to be done regarding the use of AI and social media, beyond the existing criminal offenses," she warned before the Women and Diversity Committee, seeking to censor users.
Mengolini had previously been criticized because, during the 2023 presidential campaign, she falsely accused then-presidential candidate Javier Milei of having a romantic relationship with his sister, spreading the lie of an alleged "incest." However, now that she is being accused of incest herself, she portrays herself as a victim and calls for censoring users.
