The Police of Ireland launched a search operation to locate an illegal immigrant from the Middle East as part of the investigation into the murder of Jamey Carney, a 43-year-old American woman who was found dead in her home in Killarney, County Kerry.
The victim's body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon in a rented house located in the Muckross Road area, after a relative alerted the authorities. Carney, originally from the New York area, had been living in Ireland since 2021 and was the mother of a 13-year-old teenager.
Following the forensic examination, the cause was formally elevated to homicide. According to information released by Irish media, the woman had fatal head injuries, which solidified the main hypothesis of the investigators.

In this context, the agents focused their search on an immigrant, in his twenties, who was known to the victim and had reportedly lived in Killarney for over a year. According to local reports, the suspect is a seeker of international protection and had been staying in a center of the IPAS system, designated for illegal immigrants.
