President Javier Milei signed a Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) that introduces as grounds for inadmission and deportation from the country any foreigner who engages in hate speech, discrimination, or violence against Argentina or its citizens based on nationality, as well as those who commit acts of outrage against national symbols.

According to the President's Office, the regulation aims to strengthen the defense of the Nation against offensive behaviors. In this regard, Milei's government emphasized that the protection of Argentina, its citizens, and its national symbols constitutes a central principle of its institutional policy. “Anyone who attacks the Argentine Republic is not welcome in our country,” Milei stated in the official announcement.

The decree expands the existing legal framework by explicitly incorporating these behaviors as sufficient grounds to prevent entry or order the deportation of foreigners.

The provision encompasses both public incitement and any direct manifestation that implies an offense against national identity, thereby consolidating a stricter criterion in immigration matters.

The Executive noted that the decision responds to the need to preserve social integrity and guarantee respect for Argentina.

According to the official communication, the tightening of these policies seeks to prevent situations that may affect coexistence and institutional order, in a recent context marked by hostile expressions towards the country and its inhabitants by foreigners.

In this context, Milei's government maintained that national sovereignty and the protection of national symbols are fundamental aspects that do not allow for concessions.

The regulation is presented as a tool to reaffirm those principles and clarify the conditions under which a foreign person may remain in national territory.

The new scheme also reinforces the State's authority to act immediately in response to attacks against the Republic. Thus, any action that falls within the assumptions defined by the decree may result in the denial of entry or expulsion from the country, in accordance with the established regulations.

With this decision, Milei's administration consolidates a firmer approach to immigration control, emphasizing the defense of national identity and respect for national symbols.
