President Javier Milei took part in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, where he presented the international stance adopted by his government and confirmed that Argentina will actively contribute to the new institutional architecture intended to guarantee the stability and reconstruction of Gaza after the war of Islamic terrorism against Israel.
During his address, the head of state made it clear that the country, since the inauguration of his administration, has adopted a firm stance on foreign policy, based on non-negotiable principles.
In his speech, Milei maintained that the international course of his administration is based on essential values that aren't subject to negotiation. “The new Argentina has adopted a clear position in foreign policy. We defend in an unwavering manner the right to life, liberty and property, equality before the law, freedom of expression and free trade. The defense of those rights isn't negotiable, it's a prerequisite for peace”, the President stated before the assembled representatives.
The head of state emphasized that the construction of peace can't be based on concessions regarding essential principles, but on the firm decision to uphold them. In that regard, he explained that Argentina's commitment to the council responds to a deep conviction about the need to have solid structures that guarantee lasting results.

“Lasting peace isn't built on consensuses that give way on what is essential, it's built on the determination to defend it. Argentina is taking part in this council with the conviction that peace requires political solve, and an institutional architecture capable of sustaining real solutions over time”, he expressed.
Trump's role
During his message, Milei also highlighted the role of United States President Donald Trump, whom he recognized as the driving force behind the process that gave rise to the international body.
According to his remarks, the leadership demonstrated in the promotion of peace agreements constitutes the foundation of the initiative. “President Trump has led by example, mediating the peace agreement in Gaza. The Peace Council is born as an expression of that leadership, with the mandate to implement a pacification and reconstruction plan, and the mechanisms to carry it out, among them, an international stabilization force”, he indicated.
In that context, the President confirmed that Argentina will have a concrete role within the new framework, providing human resources and expertise in international operations through the White Helmets.

Our track record in peace operations is a proven asset that we place at the service of the stabilization force”, he declared.
Argentina's participation at this stage reflects the government's alignment with an international strategy centered on the defense of the values of freedom, property and free trade, while it reaffirms its willingness to become actively involved in initiatives aimed at consolidating peace through firm political solve.
