The Argentine Government, led by President Javier Milei, strongly condemned the antisemitic terrorist attack that took place this Sunday in Sydney, Australia. This occurred during a celebration marking the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, and left at least 11 people dead and dozens injured.
Through an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Argentine Republic expressed its strongest condemnation of the attack perpetrated against innocent civilians, in particular, against Jewish families who were gathered to celebrate one of the most significant holidays in the Hebrew calendar. The official statement emphasized that this was an act of violence motivated by hatred and intolerance.

In the document, dated Sunday, December 14, 2025, the national Government expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and its solidarity with the Jewish community. "Our country renews its commitment to the protection of religious communities and their freedom of belief, as well as to international cooperation to prevent, combat, and eradicate terrorism in all its forms", the official statement noted.

He also highlighted the symbolism of the attack, which occurred at the beginning of Hanukkah. The attack took place at Bondi Beach, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sydney, while Jewish families were gathered to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah. According to local authorities, at least two armed strikers participated in the attack, which was quickly classified as a "terrorist incident" by the New South Wales State Police.

Security forces shot and killed one of the assailants at the scene and arrested the second after a swift intervention. Meanwhile, emergency services assisted the victims and transported the injured to various hospitals in the city. The initial toll was at least 11 people dead and dozens injured.
