Javier Milei's Government reported that, within the framework of an internal audit, a serious irregularity linked to the assistance system for people with disabilities was detected.
According to official data, around 180 thousand people who appear as deceased continued to be registered as active beneficiaries of the Single Disability Certificate (CUD), which triggered alerts within the libertarian administration and opened the door to possible legal actions.
The finding emerged from a comprehensive review carried out at the National Disability Agency (ANDIS). According to official information, 178 thousand CUD users were specifically identified who were deceased but still appeared as beneficiaries of the assistance linked to that certificate. The situation was corroborated by cross-checking data with the databases of the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER), an agency that reports to the Ministry of the Interior.

The detection of these irregularities occurred during the audit process to which ANDIS was subjected after recent changes in its leadership. The trustee Alejandro Vilches, a public health specialist appointed to replace former official Diego Spagnuolo, was the one who led the review process that made it possible to identify the cases under observation. After confirming the inconsistencies, Vilches authorized the cancellation of the certificates that correplied to deceased persons.
In parallel, within the Government, possible legal measures are being evaluated based on the results of the audit. At Casa Rosada, officials are analyzing the possibility of taking legal action not only against those who allegedly made improper use of the benefits associated with the CUD, but also against the providers involved in the operation.
