President Javier Milei greeted the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers this Monday in the Patio de Palmeras of the Casa Rosada, on the occasion of the 213th anniversary of the Battle of San Lorenzo, which took place on February 3, 1813.
During the ceremony, the grenadiers performed various traditional military marches, including "Avenida de las Camelias," one of the most emblematic compositions of the Argentine Armed Forces.
After the performance of the marches, President Milei approached the assembled corps and personally greeted each of the grenadiers, in a gesture of direct recognition of the regiment that guards the Government House and that of the historic independence campaign of General José de San Martín.
Today, February 3, 2026, marks 213 years since the Battle of San Lorenzo, a key confrontation that took place in 1813 and that went down in history for multiple reasons. It was the first battle of the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers, a unit created by San Martín with the aim of providing the independence process with a professional and disciplined military force.
