Just over a year before the presidential elections of 2027, President Javier Milei and his party, La Libertad Avanza, continue to lead electoral preferences, according to the latest national survey by Opinaia from September 2026.
The survey shows that, in a potential runoff scenario, Milei reaches 44% of voting intention, while the ultra-Kirchnerist governor Axel Kicillof obtains 39%. Meanwhile, 17% of respondents still have not made a decision.
One of the highlighted data points from the measurement appears when analyzing the behavior of different age groups. Among young people aged 18 to 29, Milei reaches 45%, compared to Kicillof's 33%. Thus, the President maintains a 12 percentage point lead in that segment.

The survey also records differences based on the gender of the respondents. Among men, Milei obtains 49% compared to Kicillof's 38%, while among women both gather 40% of preferences.
La Libertad Avanza, first among political forces
When the inquiry focuses on political parties rather than candidates, La Libertad Avanza gathers 33% of preferences, above Peronism, which reaches 29%.
Further behind are PRO, with 7%; Frente de Izquierda, with 6%; and Provincias Unidas, with 5%. 19% have not yet defined their vote for the 2027 elections.
Another indicator included by Opinaia measures the electoral potential of each force, combining those who would surely vote for them with those who might do so.
At this point, La Libertad Avanza reaches a potential ceiling of 49%, while Peronism reaches 44%. PRO records 40%, Provincias Unidas 38%, and Frente de Izquierda 34%.

A scenario that begins to take shape
The measurement also asked about the continuity of the Government. 47% of respondents lean towards it continuing, while 44% prefer a change.
In particular, 14% expressed that they want the Government to continue without modifications, while another 33% prefers it to continue but with changes.
The Opinaia survey was conducted between September 4 and 9, 2026, through an online survey of its own panel in Argentina. A total of 1,000 national cases were conducted among the general public, with a representative sample by quotas of sex, age, and area of residence. The reported sampling error is ±3 percentage points.
