Javier Milei led the event to honor the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers
In an emotionally charged day, Javier Milei dedicated a few words to his favorite military unit
The President of the Nation, Javier Milei, delivered a speech today at the Cuartel de Palermo to commemorate the creation of the Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballo, the military unit he has often expressed as his favorite.
The tribute took place at the historic barracks of Av. Luis María Campos 560, coinciding with the anniversary of the Regiment's founding, created by Lieutenant Colonel José de San Martín in 1812.
The Argentinian President did not use the occasion to address political agenda topics, such as negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), focusing exclusively on the recognition of the Granaderos.
The President's relationship with the Regiment has been close since the beginning of his administration. The unit escorted him to Congress for his opening speech of ordinary sessions, and already in October 2024, the Military Fanfare “Alto Perú” of the Granaderos had received him with honors at the Casa Rosada esplanade for his birthday, a gesture that deeply moved the leader.

During the ceremony, Milei greeted the authorities and members of the Regiment, reaffirming his admiration for the institution and its role in Argentine history. "We Argentinians feel proud of everything you represent," the leader stated during his speech.
Accompanying him was the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, who had also expressed himself on social media days earlier.
"They are the pride of the Nation. 213 years ago, General San Martín dreamed of them, and since then they have never stopped making history. With honor, the Granaderos guard the most sacred aspects of our identity: freedom and commitment to the Nation. Our President Milei recognizes them, we Argentinians admire them. Glory to the Granaderos of San Martín on their anniversary!" Petri stated.

Prior to the event, Milei had led a Cabinet meeting at the Casa Rosada, where key management issues were discussed.
Participants included Presidential Spokesperson Manuel Adorni, Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos, and Ministers Patricia Bullrich (Security), Mario Lugones (Health), Gerardo Werthein (Foreign Affairs), and Luis Caputo (Economy). During the meeting, the President once again praised Bullrich's work in security matters, in line with his law and order policy.

Also present was the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, who accompanied her brother to the barracks to celebrate with the Granaderos.
With this event, Milei once again highlighted his deep respect for the history and foundational values of the Nation, at a time when identity and patriotism are gaining renewed prominence in his government.
