Today, Javier Milei's government implemented a significant budget increase for the public health system, aimed at strengthening the operation of the main national hospitals and restoring the salaries of medical and non-medical staff.
This measure, which demonstrates the libertarian administration's commitment to public health, was made official through Administrative Decision 29/2025, published this Friday in the Official Gazette, signed by Chief of Cabinet Guillermo Francos and Minister of Economy Luis "Toto" Caputo.
Among the most benefited recipients is Hospital Garrahan, a national and regional reference institution, which will receive an additional $20.18 billion. This increase seeks to ensure the full operation of the health center, guarantee essential supplies, and support the work of the professionals who make up its staff.

The increase provided by President Javier Milei's government becomes even more relevant when compared to the debt that Buenos Aires province owes the hospital. According to the latest official figures, the administration of Axel Kicillof owes Garrahan more than $5,709,019,984, corresponding to outstanding payments from the Instituto de Obra Médico Asistencial (IOMA).
In concrete terms, the national government's financial support amounts to more than three times the amount of the provincial debt, highlighting the contrast between Milei's health policy and the lack of compliance on the part of the Kicillof administration in the Kirchnerist district.
While the national government increases resources to guarantee high-complexity pediatric care, the province continues to fail to meet its commitments to one of the most emblematic institutions in the public system.

It is worth recalling that a few months ago the national government itself announced an investment of nearly $30 billion in Garrahan, aimed at expansion works, modernization of facilities, and acquisition of state-of-the-art medical equipment. The objective is to optimize hospital management, improve infrastructure, and ensure that patients receive care with cutting-edge technology.
The new budget increase thus adds to a set of measures aimed at restoring the operational capacity of national hospitals, ensuring decent conditions for sector workers, and maintaining medical excellence.
Meanwhile, Milei's administration demonstrates commitment to health and administrative efficiency, while Kicillof's administration continues accumulating debts that directly affect the funding and stability of a hospital that is essential for thousands of children across the country.
