Details of the expansion in Los Molinos

Currently, this treatment center supplies 30% of the capital's population, but the goal is to immediately double its operating capacity. The works include the construction of new tanks, filters, mixing chambers, and the installation of modern electrical equipment and generators.

The strategic connection between this plant and the Suquía system is planned in order to optimize the distribution of this vital resource throughout the entire metropolitan area. The objective is for the system to be able to withstand the projected demand of 1,800,000 inhabitants for the year 2048, according to technical calculations. These improvements represent a qualitative leap compared to the deterioration that the network suffered during decades of underinvestment by previous governments.

The second key intervention consists of completely renewing the north aqueduct, a structure that is already more than 50 years old. Because it has exceeded its useful life, this conduit suffers frequent breaks that affect the supply of raw water to the plants in La Calera. The new pipeline will be manufactured with fiberglass-reinforced plastic, will have a diameter of 2,800 mm, and will extend for 2.6 kilometers.

The official plan also includes the piping of various open-air channels to prevent blockages and improve the safety of the water system. Thanks to Milei's unwavering commitment to efficiency, a much safer service is guaranteed for the current 1,500,000 users.
