Julieta Cardinali and Andrés Calamaro were the protagonists of one of the most talked-about relationships in the Argentine artistic scene. The actress and the musician, icons in their respective fields, lived an intense romance that led to a divorce filled with legal and media tensions.
It all began in 2004 in Madrid when they crossed paths for the first time. The attraction was mutual, although Cardinali was in a relationship at that time. Months later, already separated, they met again and started dating. The relationship quickly became public and generated great expectations in the media.
In 2007, their daughter Charo was born, which solidified the family. Three years later, in July 2010, they married in an intimate ceremony at the Civil Registry in Buenos Aires. However, their cohabitation lasted little.
The breakup and the start of the legal battle
At the end of 2010, during a tour in Chile, images emerged that triggered the crisis. Julieta discovered what she considered infidelity and decided to end the relationship. What followed was an extensive litigation over the division of assets and child support for their daughter.
The actress demanded a significant monthly sum that included household expenses and other costs. Calamaro offered less and ceded the property of the family mansion, valued at half a million dollars. The mutual accusations became public and escalated the conflict.
