Adolescent crime
After being detected, the criminals tried to escape across the roofs and entered homes adjacent to the educational establishment. Firefighters inspected the school's roof and confirmed that the individuals had descended a few minutes before the operation. The camera surveillance allowed authorities to trace the suspects' route, who were intercepted a few blocks from the scene.
The police managed to detain them thanks to a rapid response coordinated by the 911 video surveillance system. The young people were transported and placed at the disposal of the justice system, with no injuries or major damage reported. The video of the procedure shows those involved fleeing through internal streets until they were cornered and captured.

The failure of a guarantee-based system in the face of juvenile crime
The incident once again brings to the table the discussion about the age of criminal responsibility and the impunity of repeat juvenile offenders. Neighbors expressed their frustration over the lack of real consequences for young people who commit crimes repeatedly. Meanwhile, thousands of families continue sending their children to schools that are now targets of criminal gangs acting with impunity.
