More than 120 arrested and millions in damages due to hooligan riots in Congress
The total cost of the damages caused by Kirchnerism and the left is estimated to amount to 275 million pesos.
The Government of Javier Milei faces a new wave of violence from the Kirchnerist opposition and leftist sectors.
Hooligans and Kirchnerist activists clashed with security forces at the Congress, leaving behind a trail of destruction, at least 124 detained, in a demonstration that, far from being peaceful, reflected the opposition's violence and intolerance.
Under the pretext of "defending retirees," the situation quickly escalated when hooligans and leftist activists began provoking security forces, throwing stones and sticks at the officers.
The situation worsened when the protesters directly confronted the police, sparking a series of riots that culminated in the burning of City Police vehicles and the destruction of public property.
In a statement from the Ministry of Security, it was reported: "During the operation, Federal Forces detained 21 men and 4 women, while the City Police apprehended 73 men and 26 women".

The damages and injuries
According to official sources, the material damages are enormous. Besides the burned patrol car, significant destruction was recorded in the public thoroughfare, with broken tiles and burned trash containers.
Despite the Public Space Secretariat having taken preventive measures by removing trash cans near the Congress, the protesters used those located on Avenida de Mayo to continue the disturbances.
The total cost of the damages is estimated at 275 million pesos, which includes the repair of 80 square meters of broken sidewalks and the replacement of 30 damaged trash containers, each valued at around 3,500 dollars.

Amid the chaos, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni did not hesitate to condemn the violence: "They attacked the Casa Rosada using the stones that commemorated those who died from the pandemic. The violent ones have no respect for anything. End", he stated through his social media.
The Police, in an operation that lasted several hours, managed to detain more than 120 people, including the union leader Daniel Catalano, general secretary of ATE Capital, who were arrested for their vandalism in participating in the riots.
Meanwhile, 20 civilians were injured due to the left's violence; such is the case of a photographer who was severely injured in the head with a severe loss of brain mass and is now fighting for his life at Ramos Mejía hospital.

Also, the gunshot wound to the shoulder received by a police officer while performing his duties on Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña Avenue (Diagonal Norte) and Mitre.
In the statement released by the Ministry of Security, it was declared that, "as a result of the incidents, 26 officers from the Security Forces and the City Police were injured and were taken to Churruca and Argerich hospitals. One of them underwent surgery after suffering a gunshot wound".
Additionally, they added that, "regarding the protesters, SAME reported that there were 20 injured, some of whom were taken to Argerich and Ramos Mejía hospitals, including one in serious condition".
