Amid the violent riots carried out by the far left in different cities across the country, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that it has already received more than 220,000 applications from U.S. citizens interested in joining the agency, as part of a recruitment campaign launched by the government of Donald Trump during the last year.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the number of applications made it possible to far exceed the initial objectives and achieve a historic expansion of the operational force.

According to the official statement, ICE managed to hire more than 12,000 new officers and agents in less than a year, doubling its staff, which went from 10,000 to 22,000 personnel, an increase of 120%. The original goal was to add 10,000 agents in twelve months, but it was comfortably surpassed thanks to the volume of applications received across the country.

"The good news is that, thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill signed by President Trump, we have 12,000 additional ICE officers and agents across the country", stated Undersecretary Tricia McLaughlin. According to her explanation, this represents a 120% increase in the workforce in just four months, a pace that is unprecedented in the agency's history.

Thousands of the recently incorporated agents are already deployed and are actively participating in immigration control operations, investigations, arrests, and deportations, DHS officials indicated. The agency emphasized that the speed of the process made it possible to get personnel into the field faster than in any previous recruitment campaign.

The U.S. government attributed the success of the initiative to a data-driven strategy and to an appeal directed at "qualified patriotic Americans", while, as ICE stressed, maintaining strict selection standards, training, and operational preparedness.

The strengthening of ICE is a key component of the Trump administration's immigration and domestic security policy, since the expansion of the force will make it possible to fulfill the presidential objective of reinforcing the enforcement of immigration laws throughout U.S. territory and carrying out the mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.
