A series of operations were carried out on Tuesday morning in Córdoba capital and Unquillo. The actions were linked to a crime that occurred in February. The police arrested eight people and seized an arsenal of war weapons.

Five of the detainees are believed to be directly involved in the murder of a man. The body was found on the Circunvalación collector road, in the Jorge Newbery neighborhood. According to judicial sources, the crime is connected to the actions of a criminal organization with hitmen.

Shootout in Unquillo and an injured officer

One of the most tense raids took place in Unquillo, a town in the Sierras Chicas. There, a father and his son fired at ETER officers. During the confrontation, an officer was injured and was taken to a medical center.

The gang operated under a drug dealing scheme, with violent and heavily armed connections. Local residents had reported suspicious activity. The case remains under a gag order and an expansion of charges is expected.
