Natalia de la Sota confirmed this Tuesday the creation of her single-member bloc in the Chamber of Deputies, called Defendamos Córdoba. The decision marks her break with the provincial ruling party, after securing re-election in a scenario of internal tensions within Peronism. According to the letter addressed to Martín Menem, president of the body, it is "a sign of coherence" with what was promised during the campaign.
The pro-Kirchnerist deputy obtained around 170,000 votes, equivalent to 20% of Córdoba's Peronist electorate. Although her result was lower than expected, the figure gave her significant weight within the group. Her inner circle emphasizes that her goal is to represent a current with a provincial identity, distinct from the current government.
The split also constitutes a direct message to Juan Schiaretti and Martín Llaryora, who tried to maintain the unity of the group after the elections. Delasotismo seeks to reconfigure itself with an autonomous approach and recover the political legacy of José Manuel de la Sota. Analysts point out that the move could alter the internal balance of Córdoba's Peronism.
