The new medical report on Sergio Lapegüe was released after he was hospitalized for pneumonia.
The América TV host was admitted last Monday to a private clinic in Temperley. Everything that is known
Sergio Lapegüe is going through days of rest and medical treatment after being urgently hospitalized this Monday due to bilateral pneumonia. The news quickly raised alarms in the media world, where the host is a beloved figure, both by his colleagues and his regular audience.
His sudden absence from the Lape Club Social program, which airs on América TV, sparked suspicions that were confirmed as the hours passed. After several days with a persistent cough and fever, and following a recent trip to Paso de la Patria, in Chaco, the journalist returned to Buenos Aires visibly affected.
As soon as he landed, he went directly to the Sanatorio Juncal in Temperley, the same health center where he was hospitalized in 2021 due to complications from the COVID-19 virus.

This time, the doctors' diagnosis was bilateral pneumonia, a condition that raised concern due to his respiratory history, as the journalist suffers from asthma. According to the Teleshow portal, despite the initial impact, the 59-year-old host replied favorably to the treatment from the first hours.
The new medical report, known this morning, brought total relief: the professionals decided to remove the oxygen in a controlled manner to assess his respiratory progress. If his condition continues to improve, he will remain hospitalized with intravenous medication, a treatment that usually shows positive effects in acute pulmonary cases.

Meanwhile, his closest circle seeks to bring reassurance. Silvia, his wife—better known as Bochi—shared a video on social media where Lapegüe is seen receiving a nebulization.
"He is improving. He has pneumonia, he will recover and return to work. He is fine," she expressed calmly, while recording the scene from the hospital room.
According to close sources, Lapegüe might have postponed his visit to the doctor despite the symptoms, due to work commitments that included events and presentations for three consecutive weekends. The physical effort and lack of rest might have contributed to the worsening of his condition.
For now, the host will remain hospitalized under medical observation.
