Rosario and Villa Gobernador Gálvez woke up this Monday to an impressive police and judicial deployment. In a mega-operation coordinated by four prosecutors from Santa Fe, Daniel "Zapa" Vallejos was arrested, leader of Newell’s barrabrava and member of the narco gang "Los Monos". José "Yiyo" Medrano, a key figure in the barrabrava of Coronel Aguirre, a team belonging to the Asociación Rosarina de Fútbol, with similar connections, was also apprehended.
The operation included 110 simultaneous raids against drug dealing and acts of violence, resulting in 33 detainees and 20 fugitives already identified. In addition, municipal employees and a police officer came under suspicion, which prompted the opening of internal investigations.
The deployment involved the Anti-Drug Division of the Federal Police, the Investigations Police, the Judicial Division of Regional Unit II, and tactical groups from the Cuerpos Group. The results were conclusive: 19.5 million pesos, 2,100 dollars, six firearms (two shotguns, one homemade pistol, two .22 caliber revolvers, and one .32 caliber revolver), cocaine, marijuana, and packaging tools were seized.
