Nintendo confirmed an important change for the highly anticipated live-action movie of The Legend of Zelda. Finally, the film will hit theaters on April 30, 2027, a week earlier than the originally announced date.
The adaptation based on one of the most iconic video game franchises was set to premiere on May 7, 2027, but the company decided to move the release to expedite the project's arrival to fans.

The person responsible for communicating the news was Shigeru Miyamoto, a historic creative figure at Nintendo and one of the central figures behind Zelda.
“With the goal of delivering it to the public even a day earlier, the entire team is united to move forward with production,” Miyamoto expressed on Nintendo's official social media.
The executive did not explain specific reasons behind the calendar shift, although he emphasized that the team is working to complete the film “as soon as possible.”

Although the release of The Legend of Zelda did not have direct competition as heavy as other major blockbusters, the cinematic calendar for 2027 will be packed with important productions.
