Nintendo is experiencing one of its best moments with the launch of the Switch 2, which in just a few months has already surpassed 10 million consoles sold worldwide. The success was so great that the Japanese company decided to revise its annual forecasts upward and celebrate a historic quarter in revenue.
According to the financial report published by the company, the Switch 2 reached 10.36 million units sold as of September 30. In the same period, the original Nintendo Switch accumulated a total of 154.01 million since its launch in 2017.

A record quarter for Nintendo
During the quarter that ended in September, Nintendo sold 4.54 million Switch 2 and 11.95 million games. These figures reflect a performance above expectations. Meanwhile, the original Switch recorded 0.91 million units and 37.16 million games.
In light of these results, the company revised its projections: it now expects to sell 19 million Switch 2 consoles and 48 million games before the end of the fiscal year. For the original model, it forecasts 4 million units and 125 million titles sold.
Mario Kart leads the sales podium
The phenomenon Mario Kart World tops the list with 9.57 million copies, which means that almost 92% of Switch 2 users own it. It is followed by Donkey Kong Bonanza, released in July, with 3.49 million sold, confirming the power of classic franchises.
Un nuevo Mario Kart es casi seguro para el lanzamiento
On the previous console, the major hits remain Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (69.56 million), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (48.62 million), and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (36.93 million). In addition, Super Mario Party Jamboree has already sold 8.64 million since its launch last October.
More than 1.4 billion games sold
In total, Nintendo confirmed that more than 20.6 million Switch 2 games and 1.452 billion on the original console have been sold. The list of the best-selling titles of all time is led by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
