Finally, Argentine soccer will begin the new season with a clean slate. The Disciplinary Tribunal of the AFA decided to apply a general amnesty that nullifies all pending sanctions corresponding to the 2025 season competitions.
The decision was made after a formal request from the Board of Directors and establishes the "implementation of the general amnesty regarding all pending sanctions to be served by male and female players and members of coaching staffs". The measure covers all categories and disciplines under AFA's umbrella.

The organization clarified that the resolution is valid for "all competitions and disciplines organized by AFA, including Copa Argentina and other tournaments", so the scope is total and without exceptions.
The process had been activated on Wednesday, when the clubs that make up the Executive Committee of the Professional League endorsed submitting the request to the Disciplinary Tribunal, which ultimately gave the green light to the initiative.
With this ruling, the different championships will start without suspended players or members of coaching staffs. In this context, Estudiantes de La Plata appears as one of the main beneficiaries, since a dozen footballers still had to serve suspension dates for the back-to-front guard of honor to Rosario Central.
