Pablo Cornet: 'Javier Milei is very clear about his north and walks toward it with great determination'

Villa Allende's mayor, Pablo Cornet, highlighted the work and conviction that President Javier Milei displays. "He has a very clear sense of his direction and he walks toward it with great determination," he praised him.

The leader maintained that, through his effort, the head of the national executive inspires the rest of the political leadership.

"It is a direction that some people may like and others may not, but the reality is that Milei is not doing anything that he did not promise, nor anything that is surprising. He is going where he said he was going to go and that is very valuable in politics," he added.

Cornet referred to the resounding support that La Libertad Avanza received in the October elections. "It is the result of the Cordoban idiosyncrasy. The course that the president decided to take is in line with what the Cordoban wants," he indicated.

The leader also referred to Pro's crisis, the party with which he won the mayoralty of Villa Allende in 2023.

"For us, today Pro is a refuge, a label with which many of us grew, as is my case. I joined in 2016 with "Gato" Romero. I believe that today it represents us in many ways, but like everything, it is not perfect. There are officials who do not represent us," he expressed.

"We have to separate the label from those who are part of the work teams. I understand that in Córdoba there are disputes within Pro, but if the person who is going to preside over it moves away from the ideas of freedom, then it stops representing us," he added.

Cornet maintained that he has many points "in contact" with La Libertad Avanza and he highlighted the authenticity of Cordoban leaders.

He lamented the "betrayal" of leaders from radicalism ("those who turned their backs on us know perfectly well what I am talking about," he pointed out).

"We had the majority in the party and the endorsement of Colón department and they did not want to give us the label because of two former mayors who ran and did not have great elections. That was a big mistake by radicalism," he explained.

In that regard, Cornet valued coexistence with leaders who have different party origins.

"We respect people, people who think the same or not, but with whom we share the same conception of the city. The same thing happens to me with certain sectors of Peronism. We have people who are very closely linked to Peronism who are formidable in how they work, in the things they propose. We have stripped ourselves of certain ideologies and we are moving toward pragmatism. What is the role of the municipality, where we have to cut back, what we have to do. Those agreements are what have allowed us to work in harmony," he concluded.
