Quirno celebrated the announcement and explained that "it is an extremely important message where Argentina is taking concrete actions against a danger that threatens our sovereignty".
Contextualizing the historic presidential transmission, the minister made it clear that the strong official response arises to stop the British usurpation established by force in 1833 and that today directly threatens our natural resources.
With relentless firmness, the foreign minister shattered the opposition's speculations that attempt to link this show of strength with mere "pre-electoral timing," stating that this hypothesis "is far from the president's mindset at this moment" and reaffirming with conviction that "the Malvinas cause is above all".
The implementation of this renewed sovereign strategy is not the result of improvisation: according to Quirno on A24, its realization required a hard and discreet technical work of 6 months of negotiations.
This deployment by the government of Javier Milei is framed within a formidable prior state work that, in the last 3 years, has yielded 18 resolutions and declarations from international organizations, along with the presentation of more than 60 formal proposals against the unilateral actions of the United Kingdom.
On the macroeconomic front, both the national broadcast of the head of state and the analysis by the foreign minister agree that defending the homeland is only possible after rescuing Argentina from the pit.

The foreign minister stated that the urgency of the state reaction responds to the imminent start, in the coming months, of the Sea Lion offshore oil exploitation project, operated illegally by the companies Navitas Petroleum and Rockhopper Exploration.
This openly violates the call from the United Nations that for the past 50 years has prohibited unilateral actions in the area. To neutralize this plunder, the government will use all state tools and send to Congress a national sovereignty defense bill that will modify Law 26.659.
Quirno detailed on television that the legal reform will provide for "an increase in penalties" and will apply the tool of "trial in absentia" not only for the operators but also for "anyone who provides assistance, help, and services", prohibiting them from contracting with the Argentine public or private sector.
The Foreign Ministry has already sent nearly 180 letters of discouragement to companies and to more than 29 countries. With admirable market pragmatism, the foreign minister stated that "companies will have to decide whether to bet on a place where they are conducting illegal activities in disputed territory or if they come to a country with greater profit potential, predictability, and clear rules".
Additionally, the law will create the National Security Council, an agency that, according to Quirno, "will determine national security policy, borders outward to define how we best defend the interests of Argentines" articulating Foreign Affairs, Defense, Intelligence, and Economy.
Finally, this diplomatic triumph and national sovereignty is consolidated on the geopolitical map thanks to alignment with like-minded Western powers. Quirno analyzed the historic nod from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the re-evaluation of support for the Argentine sovereignty claim, noting that "when President Trump puts this on the table, I believe he is also stating the importance that Argentina has on the world map" as it consolidates as a "reliable strategic partner".
