The new batch of episodes connects with the canon of Suicide Squad, strengthening the connection with the cinematic universe.
Director and screenwriter James Gunn caused anticipation by discussing a possible cinematic future for Peacemaker. In Comicbook, he joked about knowing the answer but not being able to reveal it by order of Peter Safran.
"I know the answer to that question, but I'm not free to say it under penalty of Safran's punishment," Gunn commented with his characteristic humor.
HBO Max is preparing for the return of Peacemaker, the series starring John Cena that expands the new DC Universe from James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The second season arrives on August 22, promising more action, satire, and the provocative humor that characterizes the antihero Christopher Smith.
Christopher Smith returns to the forefront of the story, facing the consequences of his previous actions. Now he must evade Rick Flag Sr., leader of ARGUS, who is pursuing him for revenge.
The device Smith carries, capable of opening interdimensional portals, makes him a high-risk target within the new DC Universe.
