The case involving Facundo Moyano and Candela Arizaga has incorporated a key element that refocuses attention on what happened in the early hours of August 4 in the former deputy's apartment in the Belgrano neighborhood. This is a detailed report from the City Police, drafted at 5:30 that same morning, which reconstructs what the officers found upon arriving at the scene after a 911 call.

According to the document, the officers were in the area due to a person requiring assistance. A witness present reported seeing a woman running towards the avenue asking for help, while a man followed her. The police managed to stop both in an official vehicle.

At that moment, the woman identified herself as the man's girlfriend and claimed to have been beaten. She also stated that she had been held inside the residence against her will and that she had taken the opportunity to go out and seek help. The report identifies the young woman as Candela Arizaga and the man as Facundo Moyano.

The same witness clearly described the woman's plea for help and the pursuit he observed in the public street. This account is part of one of the first documented reconstructions of what happened outside the building.

The strong testimony that complicates Facundo Moyano: 'Candela Arizaga was beaten and held inside the property'

Moyano's public version

After being detained and charged with minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty in a context of gender violence, Moyano spoke to the media. He claimed that Candela had suffered a cardiac arrest inside the apartment, that he tried to assist her with CPR maneuvers, and that he contacted the doorman to request medical help.

The former deputy denied having exercised violence and rejected having kept her locked up. He also denied any drug use or addiction problems. His account places the origin of the episode in a medical emergency and not in an assault.

The difference between both versions is central. While Moyano maintains that everything began with a health issue of his partner, the police report records that, at the time of the intervention, Arizaga stated that she had been beaten and held against her will.

This document does not alone determine the truth of the facts nor judicially prove the accusations. It is a testimony incorporated into the police action that must be evaluated along with the rest of the evidence in the case, which remains open.

In recent days, Candela Arizaga expanded her statement before the Justice and reaffirmed that she had not been assaulted by Moyano. She also publicly denied that the images of her running down the street represented an attempt to escape. She attributed what happened to a breakdown and expressed her intention to resume the relationship.

The influencer also requested that the restraining orders and contact restrictions imposed while the investigation progresses be reviewed. Thus, the file now contains three distinct accounts: the one recorded by the Police at the time of the events, Arizaga's subsequent statements, and the explanation that Moyano provided to the press.

Moyano regained his freedom after testifying before the prosecutor's office. The investigation continues regarding the charges of minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty in the context of gender violence. The former deputy maintains his innocence and claimed to have videos filmed inside the apartment that, according to him, would support his version, although he has not yet submitted them to the Justice.

The police report now adds to the elements that the court must analyze to clarify what really happened that morning. Those experiencing or aware of situations of gender violence can contact 144 for free at any time.
