President Javier Milei spoke at the Latam Economic Forum 2025, where he took the opportunity to express himself regarding the rejection of the Clean Record project, directly blaming the PRO and questioning the lies they told on television after the vote.
"Last night, the State Party, the corrupt ones, won a battle, but they're not going to win the war... We're going to keep fighting against corruption tooth and nail until we kick them out," the president began.
"The reality is that the votes weren't there, it was all a media operation tinged with yellow," he fired, directly alluding to the PRO leadership, which increasingly resembles Kirchnerism. "The votes weren't there, and that's why the head of the LLA senators' bloc asked for a commitment to be signed before going to the chamber when we had the 37 signatures, sure that we could pass the project," the president explained.
Following that line, Milei denounced that it was a maneuver by PRO that caused the initiative to fail: "The people of Juntos por el Cambio refused to make that signature and at the same time were moving the idea in the media that we didn't want to go down (to debate); so we went down and what happened, happened."
The president pointed out that this type of maneuver doesn't surprise him, and he justified his stance by recalling precedents: "Those who covered for Cristina Kirchner were the same yellows who, via (Miguel) Pichetto, protected her privileges and then gave him the vice-presidential position to compete against Golperto (sic) Fernández."
He added: "Not only that, but they've been in Buenos Aires City for 17 years and never removed her; and in the four years of national government, neither. So, now am I the one who doesn't want to remove her?"
